Role of the
Editorial Advisory Board
The Editorial Advisory Board of Who’s Who in America’s Credit Unions
will receive recommendations from the editorial staff of Who’s Who in America’s
Credit Unions from the list of credit union leaders properly nominated in accordance
with the eligibility and selection criteria for induction into the annual Who’s
Who publication. The Advisory Board will validate, based upon the selection criteria,
all inductees into Who’s Who in America’s Credit Unions.
Created to provide a broadly based credit union industry perspective, the Editorial Advisory Board will validate potential inductees prior to their notification of selection. The Board may add or delete inductees from those nominated and recommended by the editorial staff if, in the view of the Editorial Advisory Board, the nominee does not properly meet the eligibility and selection criteria.
The Editorial Advisory Board of Who’s Who in America’s Credit Unions consists of recognized credit union leaders, both active and retired, who have served the credit union industry as volunteers, managers, league officials, trade association executives and regulators. Their wide range of experience provides the perspective to ensure that Who’s Who in America’s Credit Unions remains the premier comprehensive nationwide recognition program for credit union leadership.
Members of the Editorial Advisory Board, or the Editorial Advisory Board itself, may nominate potential inductees into Who’s Who in America’s Credit Unions.
Committed to the Who’s Who mission statement of “Honoring Credit Union Leadership, Accomplishment and Service,” the Editorial Advisory Board serves in the credit union tradition of volunteer leadership. Editorial Advisory Board members receive no salary from Who’s Who in America’s Credit Unions. A minimal stipend is provided to members of the Editorial Advisory Board for their time in volunteering unparalleled expertise and experience in evaluating and validating the induction list for each annual publication.
The Editorial Advisory Board consists of nine members, each of which has experience directly in the credit union industry. The Board will always come from those who currently serve or have served as credit union volunteers, management, leagues, associations, and regulators.
The Editorial Advisory Board for Who’s Who in America’s Credit Unions is within itself a Who’s Who of industry leaders: former NCUA Chairman, Dennis Dollar; former NCUA Vice-Chair Shirlee Bowne’; former Virginia Credit Union League President Eugene Farley; David Gilbert, Board Chairman of the Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union in Maryland; former NCUA Board Member Deborah Matz; Ken Robinson, former NAFCU President and CEO; Eunice Rogers, President of NRS Community Development Federal Credit Union in Alabama and current Board Chairman of the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions; Marcus Schaefer, President of Truliant Federal Credit Union in North Carolina; and Gary Wolter, President and CEO of the Alabama Credit Union League.
