Honorable Dennis Dollar

Dennis Dollar is a principal partner in Dollar Associates, LLC, a full service credit union consulting firm headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. Mr. Dollar was appointed to the National Credit Union Administration Board in 1997 after over six years as President and CEO of the Gulfport VA Federal Credit Union in Gulfport, Mississippi. A former eight year veteran of the Mississippi House of Representatives, Mr. Dollar served with distinction on the NCUA Board during a significant period in credit union history following the enactment of the far-reaching Credit Union Membership Access Act of 1998. He was named NCUA Chairman by the President of the United States in 2001.


Honorable Shirlee Bowne’
NCUA Vice-Chair, 1991-97

Shirlee Bowne’ is retired from the real estate development business in Tallahassee, Florida. Ms. Bowne’ also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Central Florida Federal Credit Union. She was appointed to the National Credit Union Administration Board by the President of the United States in 1991 and served with distinction as NCUA Vice Chair until 1997. Ms. Bowne’ has served on numerous civic, community and governmental boards and commissions in her home state of Florida, both before and after her distinguished service on the NCUA Board.


Eugene H. Farley
Past President, VA Credit Union League

Eugene Farley is the past president of the Virginia Credit Union League where he served for 33 years before retiring in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1999. Mr. Farley is recognized nationally as one of the true pioneers of the American credit union movement, including having the annual Eugene H. Farley award for credit union leadership presented by the Association of Credit Union Leagues named in his honor. Active in the World Council of Credit Unions, Mr. Farley is a recognized figure in the international credit union movement as well. His contributions to credit union leadership in his state, nation and globally earned Mr. Farley recognition by the Virginia General Assembly upon his retirement in 1999.


David H. Gilbert
Chairman, Aberdeen Proving Ground FCU

David Gilbert is recognized as one of the highest ranking volunteer leaders in the American credit union movement. He serves as Chairman of the Board at Aberdeen Proving Grounds Federal Credit Union in Aberdeen, Maryland. Mr. Gilbert has also served for nine years on the Board of the National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU). A featured speaker at numerous credit union conferences nationwide on the importance of volunteerism to the American credit union movement, Mr. Gilbert is retired military and active in civic and community affairs in his home state of Maryland.


Honorable Deborah Matz
NCUA Board, 2002-2006

Deborah Matz is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Andrews Federal Credit Union in Suitland, Maryland. Prior to her service at Andrews, Ms. Matz served on the National Credit Union Administration Board from 2002 to 2006 following her appointment by the President of the United States. A former economist with the Joint Economic Committee of the US House of Representatives, Ms. Matz also served as deputy assistant secretary for administration at the US Department of Agriculture prior to her appointment to the NCUA Board. While on the NCUA Board, Ms. Matz initiated the agency’s highly acclaimed Partnership in Leadership Success (PALS) program and served as NCUA’s voice for the credit union industry as she served as Vice Chair of NeighborWorks America, a leading nationwide housing initiative.


Ken Robinson, Gen. USMC (Ret.)
Past President, NAFCU

Ken Robinson is past President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU), the trade association for federally chartered credit unions, based in Arlington, Virginia. While at NAFCU, Mr. Robinson served on the Public Policy Committee of the National Cooperative Business Association and other public policy organizations impacting credit unions. A leading national credit union advocate as NAFCU president for over 16 years, he has been a featured presenter at hundreds of credit union conferences. Mr. Robinson, a retired US Marine Corps general, was instrumental in the successful legislative effort to pass the Credit Union Membership Access Act of 1998.


Eunice J. Rogers
President, NRS Community Development FCU

Eunice Rogers is President and CEO of NRS Community Development Federal Credit Union in Birmingham, Alabama. Ms. Rogers, who helped charter NRS Community Development FCU in 1996 after a 20 year career with Bell South, has become recognized nationwide as a leading spokeswoman for smaller, faith-based community development credit unions. She serves as Board Chairman of the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions and is a member of the African American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC). Ms. Rogers also has served on the Federation's Education and Training Committee, Membership Committee and has participated actively in its Faith-Based Credit Union Task Force. Active in community affairs, she also serves as Chairman of the Planning Commission for the City of Birmingham.

Marcus Schaefer
President, Truliant FCU

Marc Schaefer is President and CEO of Truliant Federal Credit Union in Winston-Salem, N.C. A recognized credit union leader on the state and national political scene for several decades, Mr. Schaefer was bestowed with the 2006 NAFCU Paul Revere Award for his effectiveness in carrying the credit union banner in the public affairs arena. He is active in the North Carolina Credit Union League and the World Council of Credit Unions. A founder of the National Association of Community Credit Unions, Mr. Schaefer is active in community affairs, including service on the Executive Committee of the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership.


Gary B. Wolter
President, AL Credit Union League

Gary Wolter is the President and CEO of the Alabama Credit Union League. After four decades of service to the credit union movement, Mr. Wolter is the dean of league presidents having served longer than any of his colleagues. He was recognized for the stature of his leadership in the American credit union system when he was recipient of the Eugene H. Farley League Leadership Award by the Association of Credit Union Leagues in 2003. Mr. Wolter is active in the World Council of Credit Unions and has served on the CUNA Board, as well as countless other credit union organizations, during his distinguished tenure at the Alabama Credit Union League.
